I don't get all the attachment love, and I don't get the 1 force boxables. And why are people running shugenja in a military deck? These builds are trying to be too clever, in my opinion. The core of the deck should be 3-6 ninja boxables with 3 force, and the rest 4+force ninja. Only non-ninja worth considering (and worth running, in my ...

I don't think this is worth getting into much more, but the comparison Kaze did of force is misleading because it lumps in 7 and 8 gold personalities together. Crab has a lot of 5 force for 8 gold guys, whereas Scorpion has no 8 gold cost ninja. So saying Crab has more guys with 5 force at 7-8 gold ignores the fact that the ...

Obviously we don't have the quantity of 5 and 6 force personalities Crab does. But, broadly, 3 F boxables, 4-5 force for 7 gold, and 6 force for 9 gold, are pretty much the standard Crab force numbers. They can go a little higher, but only on people with no or minimal abilities.

In my experience, this box is huge. By far the best of the three strongholds from this set, and military decks out of it are a match for anything in the environment. The reason is basically this: Scorpion Ninja already have an extremely strong personality base before you give them all +1F. At that point, they become Crabs with much better actions. ...

I think it might be worth trying Bayushi Hisato out -- he's excellent in your type of environment. He doesn't necessarily need a heavy infantry to be good -- you have koutetsu shinri, Daruma, and the tsi blade, so any of those plus a follower is also likely to make a province buster, or if you get two of him out it's handy. He's ...

There is some stuff for DVD, but DVD is doing pretty well, whereas the chi-death thing needed some boosts to get running. The emphasis for STS is therefore more on the Chi death, although there's a fair amount of variety for Scorpion.

I think one of the major things that helped both Myke and myself was that our decks did unexpected things. People did not expect duels out of DVD, and they didn't expect the sort of battle actions out of KW Myke was running. It is much easier to win games when you can surprise people.

So. here’s a tournament report for the elevation of Shosuro Jimen to the Emerald championship.
1. The Candidate:
For the past year, Jim Chatham pretty much single-handedly defended Scorpion pride at Lotus edition tournaments in North America, winning a truly ridiculous number of top Scorpion finishes. One of those was last year’s GenCon ...

The idea that Crane gain control of the courts in return for conceding the Emerald Championship was just one guy speculating that a bunch of other people took as fact. Nothing that specific was decided, and there's no reason to think it will be the result.
Also, to the best of my knowledge, the Crane got 2 political points from the ...
