In my playing experience, I've found that 90% of my peeps are usually bowed even before my opponent's attack phase begins and sometimes I need a defender for my honor loss battle actions. It can be annoying if my opponent bows my samurai, but if he doesn't, the "stay bowed" effect is pretty much nullified. It works fine ...

Playing RoV - It should be easy to play with your deck. You have just as many limited / open strategies as I do if not more in your deck. The key is to wait to play your bomb until you have four playable limited / opens in your hand. I've discarded battle actions at the end of my turn instead of playing an open or limited during my action ...

Just went to my LGS yesterday to play a little, and AEG sent a few copies of Imperial Herald Vol. 2 Special Issue to us. This is most definitely not a dueling deck since it has no duels in it, but you should be able to beat your friend with it with a few adjustments.
