    Althought I admit I got bored after reading the series through Naked Empire(The 8th book), too preachy, I am pretty jazzed about this television series.

    I remember these books.  Got a bunch of'em for a dollar at a closeout.  First one was all right but suffered badly from "Oh, so the people want low fantasy, do they?" and literary diarrhea.  I'm told the rest are the same, though I've never read them.

    Like I said after reading book 8 I was done. After book 6 it started becoming more philosophical and less a fantasy epic. But I recommend at least reading up to book 7. There are 11 friggin mammoth size books in the series. Each book no less than 600 pages long.

    Always considered reading them but never got to them.
    Just not worth the money i think overall for my tastes. i'll stick to WH40K novels and history ones lol.
