    High courts

How does the: Political Reaction : Even if this card is bowed, after a player loses Honor from his own card effect, target one of your Magistrates: Dishonor one of that player's target Personalities. work?

the: after a player loses Honor from his own card effect. confuses me a little

    thank you

Honor losses you cause to the other player don't trigger it. If he assigns a Saya'ed person, it doesn't count. Your Kaukatsu or Uyeda targetting him don't count.

However, if the other player uses a Hired Killer, or Shuten Doji's Fury, or brings an Oni into play, or something that causes him an honor loss that he played, you may trigger it.

The effect that causes the honor loss is physically printed with ink in your card, so it's your card effect which causes the honor loss. Wouldn't trigger.

High Courts especifically requires that your opponents run cards with text like "Lose X honor." And it's also of limited use against Spider players, who don't suffer the honor losses from their cards (it's not negation, it just doesn't happen, so High Courts can't react)

The big reason to run HC is to benefit from the 3G production when you control a Magistrate.  In all the times I've used it, I've used its Reaction maybe three or four times (don't get me wrong...it was very useful.  But the Reaction isn't why I put it into the deck).
