Hello everyone!

On Sunday, September 26th, Games of Berkeley is proud to be a part of Solving the Riddle. This tournament has also just been approved as a Winner's Choice tournament. Help out a fantastic cause while playing for a chance to snag a sweet keyword for your clan! This tournament is also the weekend before the epic Emerald tournament in Sacramento, so I hope to see you here at this tournament for that added extra practice.

Montreal Winner's Choice Tournament - Sept 25th

Montreal has been trying hard to resurect our l5r community for the last year now, and we've finally got up the gumption to host our first official tournament. Everyone within distance is cordially invited to come compete. It's also part of the solving the riddle tournament series, so you can rest assured that your entry fee is going to a great cause. Basic rundown:

I highly encourage people to come out to this. The Montreal crew is friendly, enthousiastic, and looking to put themselves on the map. If this event goes well, we may have a decent chance of hosting a kotei next season.

L5RChives' Gear Stolen! Charity Auction Forthcoming!

So....L5RChives has been met with a great deal of tragedy. This morning someone (Probably Roku-Cast. Bastards!) broke into my car that was parked in my well lit covered parking area and stole all of camera equipment and a great deal of other stuff from us. It was well over $1000 worth of gear and a lot of the footage that we shot at GenCon. A police report has been filed and descriptions of the items have been given but it's unlikely that we'll see it again. So now not only do we need to raise money to get to GenCon we need money to replace our gear. Saturday May 8th from 6pm PST to Sunday May 9th at 6pm we will be having a 24 hour webcast hosting an auction. We have a variety of artwork including original pencil sketches of Bayushi Hirosei by the esteemed Mr. Troy Graham. Please join us that weekend and help us to raise some money! new to the forum

I would just like to say hello to the forum. I am sort of new to the game, played since last October. Usually I am wearing the powdered blue but I have venturing into the Scorpion way of doing things lately. I figured that I have playing red enough to warrent hanging out on these forums. I hope to learn much about the other side of politics, so to speak.

I just seen in game trade magazine that in August the new expansion is coming out. Its called Empire at War, it is 166 cards, featuring Dragon, SCORPION, and Unicorn.

Looks like a costly summer for me, first Toshi Ranbo set to help catch up on cards missing, and then month after New Scorpion stronghold, an hopefully some really needed personalities we are lacking.

Why the Scorpion Hate ?

I have been reading thru the AEG mega game posts, both recent and past turns and have found something I cant understand. There is someone who seems to post Scorpion hate every post almost. I mean it could be something totally not related to Scorpion, but he tends to drag Scorpion into the post saying bad stuff about us, I wonder why he has such a hate-on for Scorpion ?

Maybe you guys can figure it out, I cant seem to figure it out.

So, we are in the second part of the Mega game... and I've stayed out of pestering people to get stuff done for the first half, and intend to relax during the second half as well... but.. um..

shouldn't we be planning... something? I mean the last two koteis had honor points go to waste because nobody entered.

I think the picture thing should be done, along with... you know... koku going to Subudi or something... and, if your going to one of those Jeweled Events... they are worth a lot more than the regular kotei points. Plus there is the stronghold store competitions...

::shrug:: I'm enjoying some relaxation this time around, but... we should still keep an eye out to participate.

Okay, so I'm gonna be entering a WC tournament on the 24th, and if by some strange twist of fate I happen to win, what would be a good trait to pick? The only one I was interested in (Scourge of X) has already been chosen, and none of the others really appeal to me. What would you choose, or what do you think would be best for the Scorpion, and why?

I'm just curious.

Greetings members of the Kuroiban. I was a pretty active poster and even a mod for a time around here during the Diamond Edition Arc. My posting name was Hoshi Shoju back then. I left the game at the beginning of the next arc (because I really hated a lot of the changes that they were making), and stopped coming here slowly but surely. Well, I would like to get back to posting here as I'm taking a very casual interest in the game again, and I would like to do so under my old account. There are two problems though: 1.) I do not remember the old password to save my life. 2.) I no longer have the e-mail address that I registered the account with. It was a work address, and I'm no longer with company. I didn't see any recent posts from Ryofune, So I wasn't sure if he was still around or not. If someone could point me at a site admin, I would gladly give them any information that they need to get my old posting account back :) Thanks all

L5R GenCon Event Pack Pre Order Question

I have a number of friends going to GenCon and I cannot. Looking at the "L5R GenCon Event Pack" pre-order page it states that the pre-orders are for attendees only, but to me it seems like the only reason to pre-order is to get your clan logo on the polo shirt because the page also states event packs sold at the show will not have clan logo.

So, my question is this:

If a friend does the pre-order for themselves, can they purchase an event pack for me at GenCon seperately?

So... Yesterday made 10 weeks without a smoke, and Tuesday makes 8 weeks without any nicotine whatsoever. This is mainly because my wife said I could only start playing warhammer 40k if I found the money to play... and I can get a 40k unit, maybe a blister character, and the paint needed to paint them for the price of a carton of cigarettes(I smoked more than a carton, so I'm saving money, hooray!).

Where do I get Clan Wars Minis? I think it's time to start painting a Scorpion Clan army.

Just getting ready for GenCon and was wondering if anyone out there had decklists for competitive decks from OTHER clans. I'd like to build them and then smash my face against those brick walls, learning all my weaknesses against them. I'd like my face to be as numb to the pain of running into them in time for GenCon, if possible.
